THE HISTORY OF ERUVBI FAMILY OF BENIN KINGDOM.
Eruvbi family is named after a woman of great fame, resource and will power. In recounted history, folklore, music, singing and oral tradition.
ERUVBI is referred to as "OKPOKHUO" meaning "GREAT WOMAN". She had great advantages at birth as daughter of Olokhunmwun of Okhunmwun and enjoyed even more privileges as wife of the Enogie of Utekon.
As we greet Laeruvbi, (Laeru for short) we call to mind our ancestors - fathers and mothers of past and present who over the last 513 years have responded with the endearing terms of "Koyo ovbi mwen, ovb'Ise, ovbi Eruvbi, ovbi Okhonmwovo N'Iguisi". Yes! Those who know still respond in this way.
Activities during the Houston family reunion
As we prepare for this year's event in Houston, there are few grounds to be covered during the four days family fun.
